This consultation service starts with an initial phone call to establish any areas of concern and could then progress to an onsite visit where we walk your production process to identify where safety hazards can be mitigated - engaging with the key stakeholders you need us to.

We focus on two key areas of abrasive safety:

Mitigation of longer term health risks

Here we focus on hand-arm vibration, noise and airborne particles with a deep knowledge of HSE exposure limits and access to the latest monitoring equipment.

Injury prevention

We’ll advise where certain abrasives could be substituted for alternatives less prone to potential injury causation.

We always start with your specific needs and a good understanding of your abrasive process before we suggest any product recommendations.

You’ll receive a post-visit report of our interactions which could include a proposed path forward in terms of potential process changes and alternative product solutions.

Terms of the Service

Applications to this service will be assessed based on a 3M Abrasive Process & Safety Specialist being available near to your location and the number of operators using abrasives. In the cases where we cannot attend in person, applicants will be given an Abrasives Safety Guide which contains valuable, practical information how abrasive selection can mitigate abrasive hazards. In any case we can only correspond with professional, industrial users.
