  • Social Distancing Guidelines

    Social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” means keeping space between yourself and other people outside of your home.

    To practise social or physical distancing in your facility, you must ensure that customers, guests and employees stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) apart from each other. As social distancing guidelines may evolve, be sure to reference latest government recommendations.

    Demarcate High Traffic Areas

    The following areas have been identified as zones which have the most interaction from customers and the workforce alike. These sensitive areas must be handled with utmost care and precaution to effectively curb the spread of infections:


    • Entrance and exit
    • Restroom
    • Cashier and/or checkout counter
    • Storage area
    • Parking area

    Disinfect to Protect

    Disinfection can kill germs on surfaces or objects to help prevent the spread of infection. It’s important to identify and tackle a facility’s “hot spots,” or high-touch surfaces and objects for germs.

    Typical hot spots include front desks, door knobs, elevator buttons, computer keyboards, bathroom paper towel dispenser handles and faucets in the bathroom sinks. Ensure that you examine disinfectant product labels, choose the right products, and use them correctly and safely.
