This presentation focusses on the importance of the skin in the overall functioning and well-being of the human body with emphasis on the main risk factors and their implications in the development of skin injuries affecting vascular access patients. This webinar will also
provide clinical strategies and an evidence-based integrated algorithm
that can potentially reduce the risk of patient skin damage during vascular access and infusion
therapy practice.
Dr. Britt Meyer is a Duke University School of Nursing Quality Implementation Scholar who provides leadership for vascular access and infusion practices at Duke University Health System. She leads the 55 member vascular access team at Duke University Hospital and is widely published on vascular access and infusion topics. She is currently involved in a variety of research projects aimed at improving patient outcomes related to vascular access and infusion therapy. Dr. Meyer presents nationally and internationally to disseminate emerging evidence and promote translation of evidence into practice.
