Do Not Forward Marketing Emails

  • Why am I seeing this message at the top of my email?

    3M employees and representatives must never forward emails they have received from Eloqua outside of 3M.

    This is prohibited regardless of whether to prospect, customers or to partners looking to send an email promoting 3M to their own database.

    Please note that only recipients with an email ending in mmm.com or 3m.com will see this banner at the top of the email. Other contacts will not see this. It will not even be included in their email code (if sent from Eloqua), but if you forward it, they will see this warning.

Specific Details On Why Forwarding Is Not Allowed

  1. If sending a joint mailing with a partner, there are strict 3M brand guidelines in relation to the management of partner communications and the placement of dual branding such that the recipient is clear on the sender of the communication.   2. Legally-required information is present in all 3M Eloqua emails - data controller, full legal entity name and contact details etc. It would be a potential breach of data privacy legislation if an email were sent out by any partner (media or 3M channel partner) without full replacement of this information with that of the sending partner
  3. An Eloqua email has various key elements of coding unique to the intended recipient at point of build. Forwarding or copying the code fully of that email can cause the sharing of personally identifiable information relating to the original recipient.
