As the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly evolves, 3M experts continue to tirelessly monitor the current situation. In this dynamic environment, we have created several on-demand webinars to keep you and your teams up-to-speed on a variety of emerging COVID-19 challenges.
Review the May 3M Quality Webinar as 3M experts Cheryl Manchenton and Audrey Howard review the ever-changing clinical picture and offer updated coding advice. This session will help participants stay current, and ensure their organization is displaying a full and compliant picture of their COVID-19 inpatient population.
Presenters: Cheryl Manchenton, BSN, RN; Audrey Howard, RHIA
Now more than ever, clinicians and care teams across the globe need support as they battle the current COVID-19 pandemic. Together, 3M and M*Modal are rapidly innovating to help create time to care during this health crisis with technologies that drive needed workflow efficiencies and deliver relevant clinical insights to ease the overload.
Review the April webinar as 3M experts describe how clinicians can use 3M technology to leverage speech-driven workflows with COVID-19-specific templates designed to efficiently capture relevant patient information in the EHR. Our experts will also discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language understanding (NLU) technologies can help identify COVID-19 patients. Finally, attendees will also learn how computer-assisted physician documentation (CAPD) technology can deliver real-time, proactive educational insights to clinicians on COVID-19 within the current patient context.
Presenters: Dan Engel, Tim Ruff, David Bowers
Interest in telemedicine has grown steadily over recent years, but the impact of COVID-19 has greatly accelerated the need to deliver remote care. As more health care is provided on a virtual basis, what does this mean for documentation, coding and billing? CMS has adjusted its regulations on reimbursement for telehealth, and it’s important to understand the latest guidelines.
Review the April webinar as 3M experts explore this impactful topic and share insights on recent regulatory updates.
Presenter: Colleen Deighan, RHIA, CCS, CCDS-O
The effects of COVID-19 on coding and CDI departments have varied drastically across the country. In areas with high-infection rates, hospitals are overflowing, and coding backlogs grow as teams try to keep up with higher patient volumes and rapid regulatory change. And because good documentation is the key to gathering important data about the disease, clinical CDI staff are moving to the front lines of patient care.
In contrast, other regions are seeing lower patient volumes as elective procedures are postponed, and organizations brace for the potential surge of COVID-19 patients.
Review the May webinar as 3M experts illustrate what strategic outsourcing arrangements look like and how they can benefit your organization during times of crisis and beyond. You’ll see firsthand how access to skilled, outsourced staff can relieve overburdened teams, and also allow other organizations to prepare for volume surges.
