Addressing Challenges of Bioprocess Impurities Early in the Process

Webinar 14: Addressing Challenges of Bioprocess Impurities Early in the Process

  • Dr. Jack Cordrey

    Summary

    Date: Wednesday September 13th, 2023
Time: 11 am CEST / 10 am BST
    Speaker: Dr. Jack Cordrey
    Event language: English

The challenge of bioprocess impurities continues to intensify and push the frontiers of biopharmaceuticals. Once harvested from the bioreactor, the race is on to separate and purify the drug product. The traditional approaches of sectioned purification trains are overcomplicated and resource-heavy processes, which result in the impurities being "handed-off" to the next section of the downstream process, creating additional purification trains to deal with it.

We will demonstrate the next generation in downstream processing, bringing the workhorse of purification and chromatography, upstream to the harvest step. We can remove these impurities early on, resulting in process simplification and intensification that increase your drug product quality, efficacy, and safety ready for patient. Importantly, by utilising these new technologies early in process development, results are translated directly from lab to manufacturing. Furthermore, we will cover aspects of in-field testing to give you insights into your bioprocess that can be valuable during scale-up.

In this webinar we will specifically cover:

    • What are product and process-related impurities.
    • What your 3M Bioprocess Application Specialists can analyse in the field to give you insights into your bioprocess.
    • Case studies around host cell DNA, host cell proteins and aggregates.
